Tristan Williams

With over two decades in the construction industry, Tristan is passionate about delivering a sustainable built environment.  His career began in the UK as one of the first exports of Design Management into the industry from academia. He has worked on a broad range of multi-million pound projects including, education, shopping centres, community centres, and sports facilities. He has extensive technical and management experience and completed an Engineering Doctorate from Loughborough University in 2013 to solve real world issues with the support of the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.

Moving to NZ in 2015, he has continued to champion design management in contractor, developer and client organisations across residential, commercial and speciality projects including the iconic New Zealand International Convention Centre and Hobson Street Hotel project where he advocated the use of Building Information Modelling (BIM) and continual improvement in organisations.  He has a detailed focused approach to quality and programme throughout the whole building process.

Tristan brings a wealth of experience of whole life construction projects from feasibilities, design, pre-construction through to completion and has continued to refine the design process to ensure future projects benefit from his years of experience. This included leading the review and approval of an innovative façade system with both suppliers and Auckland Council to offer a new product to the NZ construction industry.
